Mission Statement

To provide for needy expectant mothers in the areas of food, clothing for themselves and their unborn, furniture, day care, mentoring and counseling. We also help pay for telephone and electric bills, apartment or house rentals and so on.

Who do we serve?

Our clients are mostly young minority women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy situation and are in urgent need of just the very basics of life. A roof over their head, clothing, food, etc. The majority of them honestly want to find work and begin rebuilding their self esteem.

Are there alternatives for these women?

One might ask, why can’t these women get assistance from the state welfare system instead of private donations from organizations such as the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants. The answer is simple. The state of NJ and many others have drastically reduced such aid, even their energy assistance programs (heat, electricity , etc) are all oversubscribed with long lines of applicants waiting to get help. About the only financial help these girls can count on are food stamps ($338/mo.) and welfare ($322/mo.) and not all are eligible for both. That comes to $7920 a year to live on. Not much if you have 2 or 3 children and are expecting another very soon. If you were a women living under these conditions, it’s easy to understand how every day is a tedious battle to keep your head above water. And how desperate one can become wondering how in the world you could possibly survive. We at the helpers understand their plight and why they keep falling into these situations of getting pregnant with no commitment from the father of the child. Like every human being under stress, with little hope on the horizon and fighting depression each week, they are searching for relief knowing full well how very hard it is for them to rise above their station in life without a lot of help from the outside.

One can even understand their fruitless yearning for love even if it comes in the form of a non-committed boyfriend who promises them the world.
